The WMS PTSA performs many important roles in support of Washington Middle School, including community building, support for arts and academics, communication, fun events for our kids, and raising money to provide teacher grants and other financial support to the school. Lots of volunteers are needed to participate in these efforts, which are guided by the PTSA Board.
Every year we rely on new parents stepping up to take a leadership role through our PTSA Board positions.
As usual, we need to fill several board positions for next year. We would like to have 2 people sharing most roles, serving staggered terms so that most new people are sharing the job with someone experienced. We therefore hope volunteers can make a 1- to 2-year commitment.
So, what’s involved?
All PTSA Board members commit to approximately 12 meetings per year (usually 9 Board meetings and 3-4 larger “General” meetings that feature guest speakers). The Board roles require varying skills and time commitments.
If you might be willing to volunteer, the PTSA Nominating Committee would love to tell you more; please contact Emily Lieberman or Ya’Vonne Hubbard.
Please share your interests or talents, and help support our kids at WMS!
