Nov. 8 Nov. 13 is the (extended!) deadline for entering the Washington Middle School round of this year’s national PTA “Reflections” arts contest.

Students may enter original work in any of six categories:

  • visual art (2D or 3D)
  • photography
  • literature
  • music composition
  • film/video production
  • dance choreography!

An optional “special artist” category is available to students who qualify under ADA regulations.

Important to know:

  • Entries should reflect the 2020-21 theme, “I Matter Because….”
  • Full rules for each category are on the WA State PTA’s Reflections info page.
  • Entries must include an entry form (it’s downloadable on our Forms page).
  • The entry form will require a short “artist’s statement.”

Questions? Or, have an entry ready? Email to Reflections@wmsptsa.com.

Winners in this round will advance to a citywide competition, which includes an online recognition ceremony for all our student artists. The virtual celebration of our artists will be on Dec. 13.

There’s a chance to reach the statewide and national rounds! Some recent WMS entries have won citywide and statewide recognition.
