Are you interested in hosting a Japanese exchange student? Garfield High School is in its sixth year of student exchange with Kanagawa Sogo High School in Kanagawa, Japan. We are looking for families who would like to build international friendships, share Seattle culture, and support a growing program at Garfield. No knowledge of Japanese language is required!

WMS families encouraged to host: details and/or logistics will be sorted out for non-Garfield host families.

Dates: March 19-25
Lodging: Exchange students should sleep in a bed
Meals: Please plan to feed exchange students for the duration of their stay, including sack lunches or money for lunches at school
Shadowing: Exchange students will attend school with their GHS host student, some days will be spent shadowing regular classes, and some days will be spent working with Japanese classes
Community event: March 21 in the evening at GHS – exchange student presentations and potluck
