Welcome to the Washington Middle School (WMS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) website. Located in Seattle, WA, WMS is supported by the PTSA an organization of parents, teachers, students, and staff members focused on building community through engagement opportunities and providing additional funding to support the needs of our educators and families. We believe that even as our middle schoolers become more independent, they still benefit from a strong community of adults around them.
What the PTSA does… We support our students, staff and families through community building opportunities and fundraising efforts needed to support WMS. Here are some examples:
- Classroom grants for every teacher and staff member to support the needs of students
- “Opportunity” grants to fund a new idea that any teacher or staff member feels could benefit their classroom or the school
- Recruitment and coordination of most volunteers
- Regular community dinners
- Hosting dinners at open house nights
- PTA General Meetings, featuring topics important to parents and our school
